Ground Turkey/ Chicken "Soyaki" Recipe

It's Valentine's Day! Can we all agree, holidays such as this should never fall on a weekday? It's just not convenient at all. Most of us have a regular day of work, to then after have the energy for that special someone. Not to mention, you have to be up and ready to go back to work the next day! Let's not even go into the crazy wait times to get a meal at a restaurant on a day like today! For those of you who just want to have a nice, romantic, and quiet dinner at home, here is a quick and easy recipe to try. I'm sure you and that special someone are going to LOVE it!

Here's what you are going to need:

-1lb Ground Turkey or Chicken Breast (*You can use whichever you prefer, I have made both and I honestly like both equally.)

-Broccoli Florets

-Shredded Carrots

-1 Yellow Onion

-"Soyaki" Sauce from Trader's Joe

-1 tablespoon Olive Oil

-Stir Fry Pan *Not necessary but a good recommendation to use with this recipe.

-Your usual seasonings used when cooking meat. (The seasonings I use are lemon juice, oregano, garlic, Adobo powder seasoning, black pepper, salt, and paprika.)


1) If you are using chicken breast, start off by chopping the meat into small chunks and then washing the meat as you normally would.

2) Season the meat.

3) Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the pan and let it get warm for about a minute.

3) Throw in the meat and let it cook until brown. Usually this takes me about 15-20 minutes depending on if it's chicken or turkey. Chicken takes longer to be fully cooked.

4) While the meat cooks chop up some yellow onions in rings, you don't need to dice it. Boil the broccoli florets for about 5 minutes or just until the water comes to a boil.

5) Once the meat is ready and cooked, begin throwing in the chopped onions on the the pan and let that simmer for a minute or two.

6) Throw in the shredded carrots and broccoli into the pan.

7) Add about 1 cup of the Soyaki sauce. You can add more if you'd like it's all about your preference and how saucy you want your dish to have.

8) Let that simmer for about 3-4 minutes and that's it!

I usually have this dish with some white rice on the side which, you can easily have cooking while you are making the meat. Just like that you avoid yourself all the headaches that comes with Valentine's Day and you have yourself a delicious meal in under an hour!
